The area of Fujairah that most tourists visit is near the city of Dibba. The beach area of Al Aqah has several beautiful beach resorts and also provides a great weekend getaway for many Dubai and Abu Dhabi residents. The city of Dibba is part of Fujairah, Sharjah, and also Oman - there is a border crossing in the middle of town. UAE residents can only cross this border if their tour operator has a copy of their ID at least 3 days in advance, tourists can cross anytime. Dibba port is on the Oman side and many liveaboards leave from there.
By car, Al Aqah is about 2 hours from Dubai and it's a very scenic drive through desert and mountains. The nearest airport is Dubai International Airport and hotels provide pickup for guests arriving by plane. The closest supermarkets and shopping centers are in Dibba, about 20 min by car from most resorts.

When to visit

December to March are the coolest months, during the daytime generally below 30 degrees C. These are also the rainy months. The rest of the year temperatures are usually in the 30s, reaching above 40 degrees C in the summer. Humidity is highest during the summer months.
Water temperatures are in the low 20s during the winter and warm up to more comfortable 28-30 starting in May. Surface temperatures can reach body temperature during the summer, but the water is refreshingly cool once you start diving!
