Divers Down

Divers Down is a very professional dive center, they are also into tech and rebreather diving. They are located at Al-Aqah beach connected to the Miramar hotel, which is a nice place to stay with a great pool area and a nice Italian restaurant by the pool. The dive center is run by course director Michela, and her partner David runs the tech and rebreather courses. They offer boat dives going out with one tank and returning in between each dive. This gives you more flexibility in terms of how many dives you want to do and you get a good surface interval between dives but overall it also takes more time if you plan to do more than one dive.

Freestyle Divers

Freestyle Divers is a great dive center located just on the shore in front of Dibba Rock. It caters to photographers because the owner Marine is an avid underwater photographer herself. The dive center has a great setup with the gear area close to the beach and covered to provide shade. There is a separate rinse tank for cameras. They offer boat diving with 2 tanks since most dive sites are at least a 20 minute boat ride away, so the surface interval is done on the boat while traveling to the next site. They also offer local diving at Dibba Rock, where the boat can drop you off anytime. It looks close enough to swim to but we hear it's at least a 40 minute swim with dive gear! There is a hotel connected to the dive center, but we have never stayed there. Also, the food at the restaurant is nothing to write home about so we suggest bringing a lunch or stopping at the local Subway to pick up a sandwich. Water is provided.

Sandy Beach Dive Center

Sandy Beach Dive Center is located at the Sandy Beach Resort at the beach just by Snoopy Island. This is the only dive center where you can do shore diving and actually see quite a lot! Snoopy Island is home to turtles, cuttle fish, nudibranchs, seargent major fish and the usual suspects and if you're lucky you may even see a reef shark! The dive center is run by Pierre from South Africa, and he is like a fish in the water. They offer boat dives with two tanks twice a day and the shore diving can be done anytime without a guide. The food at the restaurant near the dive center is fine and a good place for lunch.
