Fujairah

Fujairah is the 5th largest of the 7 emirates in the UAE and lies along the coastline of the Gulf of Oman. It is known for its beaches and the Hajar Mountains, which run through much of the emirate. Fujairah is home to the oldest mosque in use in the UAE, the Al Badiyah Mosque (built in 1446 of mud and bricks). Many reefs and a few wrecks off the coast make Fujairah a great diving destination!
Fujairah's economy is based on subsidies and federal government grants. Local industries consist of cement, stone crushing and mining. Fujairah port is the world's second largest bunkering hub with large scale shipping operations taking place every day. The Abu Dhabi Crude Oil Pipeline (ADCOP), a 360 km long pipeline from Abu Dhabi, was built to reduce oil transportation through the strait of Hormuz and have a direct supply to the refinery and export terminal at the Fujairah port.
