Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

The Sheikh Zayed Mosque was built from 1996 to 2007 and has space for 41,000 people. It contains many intricate details such as marble with inlays of mother of pearl, the largest hand-knotted carpet (made by women in Iran), and chandeliers with millions of Swarovski crystals. The mosque is beautiful and majestic, depending on the light you can get some amazing photos. We recommend going on a tour to learn more about the mosque and the religion of Islam. Women must cover their heads and legs and men must wear long pants. They also provide abayas and sheilas for women and kandooras for men.

Yas Island

There are several attractions on Yas Island. Ferrari World with the world’s fastest roller coaster with a top speed of 240km/h (make sure you sit in the front row for the best experience), Yas Marina Circuit where each year in November the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix  is held including a concert with world class performers, and Yas Waterworld with some thrilling slides. Yas Island is about a 45 minute drive by car from the Dubai Marina.

Saadiyat Island Cultural District

Saadiyat Island Cultural District is home to the Louvre Abu Dhabi, an impressive building,  designed by xx showcases artwork from around the world. More museums are planned, such as a Guggenheim, but that will take a few more years. The beaches at Saadiyat Island are beautiful and many beach hotels also cater to daytime visitors meaning they have a daily rate to use the hotel facilities and their beach area. For those who don’t need that luxury, there are also open beaches easily accessible by car.
