Practical Info

North Sulawesi includes the well-known dive areas of Lembeh (see separate pages) and Bunaken. The nearest airport, Manado International airport, is on the Western side of the island. We have flown into Manado from Singapore, but you can also get there from Jakarta, Denpasar, or any other Indonesian airport. Transport to your resort is best arranged through the resort.

** There may be mosquitoes (very low malaria risk) and the local mosquito repellant works well! **

Visa on arrival ($35) and a free visa are available if you are coming from Singapore and both allow for a 30-day stay. The difference is that the visa on arrival can be extended in country for another 30 days whereas the free visa has no possibility of extension.  Stays up to 180 days are possible with a visit visa. The lists of countries eligible for each of these visa types are different, check links below for details.
