General information:
Especially for photographers copyright is a very important topic. In photography, copyright means you own an image you created automatically without having to file, register, publish, or mark anything. According to EU copyright laws, a work of art such as a photo or a video is automatically copyrighted upon creation of the work. No registration is needed. A watermark is not a requirement for copyright. By definition, you create an image as soon as the shutter is released. The photographer who pressed the shutter button owns the copyright regardless of the subject. The photographer will own that copyright throughout their life and 70 years afterwards.
