Hi, we're the people behind Photographer-on-the-go

We met through a mutual friend and our first date was a day of diving in Fujeirah, UAE. Things took off from there and we never looked back. A shared interest in diving and (underwater) photography lead to many weekends and most of our holidays spent underwater in various places around the world. One thing lead to another and before we knew it we took a 6 months leave from work to dive around Indonesia and certify as dive instructors. Our photo skills kept pace with our diving skills while we moved from using point-and-shoot cameras to compact cameras, added strobes and then upgraded to mirrorless cameras. At the same time we also took more and more photos above water and discovered the fun of filming documentaries.

Over the years we realised how much we enjoy sharing what we learned about photography, diving, marine life, post-processing, etc. with others and after long and hard thinking (over many a glass of wine and Diet coke… ;-) we decided to take the step and start Photographer-on-the-go. Now we dedicate a lot of our time to sharing our love of photography and marine life with like-minded people who, like us, are passionate about improving their photography and videography skills and want to travel the world to experience the underwater world.

Rob Buurveld

Rob is a technician at heart who turned to creativity. He drinks Diet coke like there's no tomorrow and in case you're looking for him underwater, he's the guy way in the back taking photos of small stuff.

On-the-go...

On-the-go felt like an appropriate name; we both take any opportunity to travel and discover new destinations, dive a new site, or visit a new city so we do tend to spent a fair bit of time on-the-go. And with a wish-list of locations that seems to grow every time we meet new people we'll probably be on-the-go for a long time to come.
